Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Location:

Preston, Wyre and surrounding areas

Reporting To:

Registered Manager / Senior Care Staff

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality, compassionate care and support to clients in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing in line with DanDia & Danz Care Limited’s values and care standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and continence support.
  • Support clients with mobility and transfers safely and respectfully.
  • Help with medication reminders and administration under supervision, following care plans.
  • Prepare and assist with meals and hydration according to dietary needs.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote mental wellbeing.
  • Assist with light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe home environment.
  • Observe and report any changes in client’s health, behavior, or environment to senior staff promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential care records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings to continuously improve skills and service quality.

Person Specification:

  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet client needs.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills; willingness to undertake further training.
  • Previous care experience is desirable but not essential; full training provided.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally hold or be working towards a relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training including safeguarding, first aid, and infection control.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in clients’ homes across Preston and surrounding areas.
  • May involve physical tasks such as lifting and assisting with mobility aids.
  • Flexible working hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Preston, Wyre and Surrounding Areas

Reports To: Registered Manager / Senior Nursing Staff

Job Purpose

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to clients in their own homes, promoting health, independence, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in domiciliary settings.

Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.

Monitor client health and respond to changes promptly.

Provide wound and catheter care as required.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families.

Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records.

Promote health education and self-care.

Adhere to infection control and safeguarding policies.

Participate in training and mentor junior staff.

Person Specification

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Experience in community or domiciliary nursing preferred.

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered.

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Commitment to professional standards and confidentiality.

 Qualifications

Registered Nurse qualification and current NMC registration.

Specialist training desirable.

Valid driving license and vehicle access may be required.
